3 Alternative First Date Ideas

3 Alternative First Date IdeasThis post was going to be some ideas for a great first date. However, as I was brain storming some ideas, I realised how much of a cliché they all were - dinner followed by cocktails, moonlight picnic, trip to theatre.
Doing all the traditional first date things seems a little boring, and puts on so much pressure for everything to be perfect. The perfect outfit, hair, nails, the lighting to be just right, the conversation to flow and keep you both interested with no awkward pauses, laughing at rubbish jokes and arguing over who picks up the cheque.
Personally, I'm more of a pint in the local sort of girl then oysters at a fine dining establishment. It feels so much less forced, and I think you should be able to have fun with someone if you are really going to click.
So I got to thinking of some alternatives that are fun and take away a lot of the pressure:

1. Go paint balling

Forget the outfit, hair and makeup it's only going to get covered in paint! It's fun and messy and relaxed.

2. Go to a sports game

Obviously, this works best if you both support the same team, but if not, a little friendly rivalry could be fun! If the conversation runs out, you can always talk about the game.

3. Join in a murder mystery day

Great way to have a laugh and work together at something with a common goal, this will show if you are compatible in your way of thinking without being awkward.

  3. I wouldn't want to go paintballing- as i tried it and it is painful but i'd love a murder mystery! That sounds cool. When I get well im going to go date my hubby out of the home! When it happens!

    1. I hope you get to do that murder mystery Angela! You could even go on a murder mystery weekend - that seemed a little creepy for a first date idea, but I think it would be a lot of fun for an established couple :) x
