Happy Father's Day Dad

As it's Father's Day in the UK today, I thought I would do a little post about my dad.
Bike road signI have so many happy memories of my dad from growing up. Setting up my first Scalextrix, learning to ride my bike, playing all kinds of daft games in the garden in summer, water fights. Too many to mention them all that's for sure.
One that really sticks in my mind was him taking me to buy my first football shirt. Bear in mind it was a Manchester United shirt and my dad is a Liverpool supporter through and through. Anyone who understands football will know what a true sacrifice that was for my dad!
Manchester United badgeHe's also given me loads of great advice over the years, and doesn't say I told you so when I ignore it!
Overall, I couldn't ask for a better dad!

I also wrote a dad themed poem for Rambles Rants and Writings, which you can read here if you want to take a look: http://media.wix.com/ugd/d1543e_320206fcfc7c4d1ebb5da5f6d4d4569a.pdf using password RRWpublications

I would like to wish all the good dads out there a very happy Father's Day, and I would also like to spare a thought for people who's dads are no longer with them. This must be a very hard day for you all.
Happy Father's Day

  3. Thanks this is a lovely post. I don't have my Dad anymore and it does feel odd on Father's Day. I have a step-Dad which is a nice comfort. You sound like you have a great relationship with yours. Thanks so much for linking up to #bestandworst and please pop back! xx
