Even More Things You Didn't Know About Me!

Even More Things You Didn't Know About Me!I recently published 31 Things You Didn't Know About Me which was a combination of tags for the 10 and 11 things you didn't know about me. I have since been tagged again in the 11 things you didn't know about me and in the bloggers interview tag, which you can read here.

The Rules
1. Thank the person who nominated you
2. Answer their questions
3. Write your own questions
4. Nominate other bloggers to keep the tag going

So, because I've done this in the original post, I won't be writing questions or tagging people, but if you would like to take part, consider yourself tagged! If you do, let me know when your post goes live so I can see your answers! You can find the questions by following the link above to the original post.

Firstly, I would like to thank Stacey from Poot's Notes for the tag. Thanks Stacey!

And now, of course, the questions and my answers!

What is your favourite type of music?
I love a wide range of music, and I could list songs from each type that I love. If I have to choose just one, I would say metal/rock.

Who would you call your hero?
After pondering this for quite some time, I am no closer to an answer! Do I go soppy and say my mam/dad? Do I name a friend who handles so much everyday and is way stronger than she knows but would kill me if I named her? Do I choose one of the many inspirational women leading the way? A sportsman? Anyone of the armed forces, or anyone who risks their lives everyday for the good of others? How about any one of the above - that sums it up I think!

Why do you blog?
Mainly, because I love it! I enjoy writing, and sharing my ideas and opinions, and a blog is a perfect way to do that.

What is your favorite TV show?
It's technically a Netflix show, but I would have to say Orange is the New Black.

If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who and why?
Sigmund Freud. His work fascinates me, and I would love to spend a little time quizzing him about how he came up with some of his theories.

Do you have a degree? What is it in?
No degree, but I do have A-Levels in English Literature and Psychology

What is your dream job?
I would love to write for a living. Failing that, I always had a thing for being a lawyer. Being paid to argue sounds like something I would enjoy, although the reality of it would probably be much more boring!

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Probably this blog! How sad is that lol!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I don't do the whole plan ahead thing, I prefer to wing it. Nothing ever turns out as we plan, so why not embrace that and go with the flow.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
New York without a doubt. It's somewhere I would love to live, even if just temporarily.

Thanks again to Stacey for the tag (those questions were hard!).

18 More Things You Didn't Know About Me

18 More Things You Didn't Know About MeI recently published 31 Things You Didn't Know About Me which was a combination of tags for the 10 and 11 things you didn't know about me. I since been tagged again in the 11 things you didn't know about me and in the bloggers interview tag. Again, I thought I would combine them to make 18 things you didn't know about me.

The Rules

Firstly, I would like to thank:
Pink's Charming and Trista from Domesticated Momster for the tags! I love doing these types of posts, so thank you very much both of you :)

Now, onto the questions!

Pink's questions

1) What’s the most exotic place you’ve visited?
I'm not sure if it's technically exotic (when I think exotic, I automatically think Caribbean and I haven't been there), but Albufeira in Portugal was sooo hot and the beach was gorgeous!

2) What’s your make-up must-have?
Eye-liner! Preferably liquid or gel, but pencil will do! I don't feel right if I have make up on but no eye-liner.

3) Best piece of advice you’ve been given?
To be myself, and if other people don't like it, that's their problem not mine

4) Favourite book?
It's so hard to choose just one! Every time I'm asked this I give a different answer because I have so many favourites. I loved My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I loved the way the characters felt so real and the way it wasn't over played.

5) Top online shop?
I know it's not really a shop as such, but I buy quite a lot off eBay. There's always some good bargains to be had.

6) What’s your middle name?
My middle name is Anne.

7) What unusual celebrity do you have a major crush on?
I don't think I have any unusual ones. All the ones I can think of are quite mainstream and very boring. I did used to have a bit of a thing for Josh Charles, which I thought was kind of weird. I think it was more the character I liked than the actor though - cocky and sarcastic! Anyway, when the character died (sorry for the spoiler alert for anyone a couple of seasons behind) there was actually on line support groups for grieving woman, so maybe that wasn't unusual. For the record, I didn't feel the need to join any!

8) Tell me an interesting or random fact about yourself.
When I was a child, I bit my dentist twice. In my defence, she did have her hand in my mouth :)

9) Favourite font, and why?
Probably this one (verdana) which I use on my blog a lot. I hate text written in fussy font but I think TNR and Ariel are too predictable, so I like this one as its simple but not as over used.

10) What charity would you donate to if you won a big wedge of money?
There's three:
1. The Sea Cadets. I have seen first hand the amazing work that the volunteers put in, and how much difference they can make in young people's lives. I also like the fact that there is no over paid hierarchy getting a cut of their donations. If you donate directly to your local unit, they get to use all of the money.
2. Help For Heroes. I have the utmost admiration for anyone who in the forces, and it never fails to disgust me that upon their return, a lot of them don't get the help they need.
3. The RNLI. These men and women risk their lives going out to sea in terrible conditions, and they do it out of the goodness of their hearts - they don't get paid for it, and that for me says it all. They do a lot of sea safety awareness training and campaigns, to hopefully prevent people ending up in trouble.
I would also buy groceries on a regular basis for my local food bank.
Sorry I couldn't choose just one!

11) What’s the last text you sent?
My boss from work to text to ask me if the new starter had left her paperwork, and I answered no. Not very exciting!

Trista's questions

How did you get into Blogging?
I kind of stumbled into it if I'm honest. I wanted to find a way to find my writing style and a blog seemed like the answer. It was never meant to last for more than a week or two, then I realised I loved it, so here am I six months later.

How has your blog changed since you started writing it?
I knew from the beginning I didn't want a niche - it's too limiting and I would get bored quickly. At the beginning, I wrote about anything and everything, and although I still do, I now run monthly themes, so there is a least a little bit of organisation. I also use images now, where in the early days, I didn't. You can read more about why here.

What would be your dream campaign?
I would love to find a travel company who would be willing to pay for me to travel the world and blog about it. I know that's pretty unlikely to happen, but if it's going to be a dream, it might as well be a good one!

What advice would you give to PR’s wanting to approach you for a campaign?
Send me round the world! Seriously though, don't take the pee. You don't work for free, so why would you expect a blogger to promote you for free. Also, read my blog before contacting me - not every post, but enough to get a feel for what it's all about. A blogger I know, who writes a lifestyle/writing blog was approached to do a post about tyre safety. It's wasting her time and the PRs.

Do you have a plan for you blog?
Yes and no. I don't have any grand plans to monetize my blog (although if the chance came along, I wouldn't say no) but I do have plans about the topics and posts I will be having for the next few months.

What do you think about rankings?
I have nothing against them, but I'm not registered to any of the sites that give rankings. Personally, I think it is hard to rank a blog on anything besides numbers, because they are all so different, and I feel numbers wise, it stands to reason that someone who has been blogging for years will have better numbers than someone who has been blogging a month, regardless of who's content is best.

Thanks again to Pink's Charming and Domesticated Momster for the nominations. Go check them out, links are at the top of the post :)

31 Things You Didn't Know About Me!

31 Things You Didn't Know About Me

This is actually the 10 or 11 things you didn't know about me tag, but as I've been tagged 3 times, I thought I would combine them all into one post. I would like to start by thanking the people who nominated me:
Becky at Cuddle Fairy
The Mama at Poop Rainbows
I love all three of these blogs, drop by and say hello :)

1. Thank the person who nominated you
2. Answer their questions
3. Write your own questions
4. Nominate other bloggers to keep the tag going

Becky's questions

1. If you could return to one place you have already traveled to, where would it be?
I want to say Rome for the culture, the history and the fashion, but being totally honest, much as I loved Rome and would return, if I could only pick one, it would have to be Benidorm, even if that does make me sound a little boring! You know when you find that place that somehow feels like home even though it isn't? That's how I feel in Benidorm.

2. What kind of music do you like?
I like all kinds of music - my playlists are a mix of genres that should probably never be seen together - Led Zeppelin followed by Dolly Parton anyone! My favourite kind is rock/metal.

3. What's your favourite book or magazine?
My favourite book tends to change but I think it would have to be Clan Of The Cave Bear by Jean M Auel. I felt such an emotional connection the first time I read this (and still do each time). I feel it's one of those books that every time you read it again, you find something you missed before.

4. What's your favorite thing to shop for (ie: handbags if you asked me)?
Generally, I hate shopping with a passion, but shoe shopping is my guilty pleasure!

5. If you could travel back in time & give your 17-year-old self one piece of advice - what would it be?
Stop trying to please people - some people, you will never please - those people don't matter. The people who do matter you please without having to try so hard! I know this now, but I wish I had learned it a lot sooner.

6. Do you have a favorite sweet / candy?
Cadbury's Caramel! It's just so good!

7. Do you have any pets?
Just fish at the minute. I have tropical fish and gold fish.

8. What's your favourite perfume?
I love La Coste Pink.

9. What was your first job?
My first job was as a cleaner on a chemical plant - it was 5-7pm on weekdays, so worked out perfectly for a bit of pocket money while I was at college.

10. Name one blog that you really enjoy & follow regularly (I know it's hard to choose just one!).
Wow, this is tough - I have a list coming out tomorrow of my top favourite blogs, so anyone of those really, but I feel like that's cheating! I really enjoy You Baby Me Mummy and I have learned so much about blogging through reading this blog.

Thanks again Becky - those questions where tough, I think you got your own back lol!

The Mama's questions

1. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done?
Oh wow, ever wish you hadn't vowed to be honest on your blog!? I once kissed a man who was married. I was very young, very stupid and utterly charmed that this older, seemingly sophisticated man was into me. I really regret it and if I could turn back the clock, there's no way I would do it.

2. What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?
I worked for a company that did business to business sales. It involved a lot of cold calling, not even over the phone, but just turning up at businesses uninvited and unannounced. I was quite good at it, but I hated every second of it!

3. What’s the best trip you’ve taken?
I really enjoyed Terra Natura. After reading a few bad reports, I was a bit nervous, but it turned out they were all totally unfounded. The animals all had loads of space, were well fed and seemed happy. It was a great day with a lot of good memories.

4. If you could be any inanimate object, what would you be?
Oh, I like this one! I would be an aeroplane! I love the idea of flying around the world every day, and most people on aeroplanes are pretty happy so that would be good too.

5. What’s the best TV series you’ve seen?
I love so many. I think my favourite would have to be Orange is the New Black - I hope that counts because technically it's a Netflix Original!

6. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve eaten?
A bush tucker kebab! It had bison, kangaroo and crocodile, all of which were surprisingly nice). That wasn't even abroad either, our local butcher was getting in on the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here hype!

7. What’s the best date you’ve had?
I'm not really a hearts and flowers type - I don't buy into the whole posh dinner and theatre trips things. My best dates have always been just sitting in a bar having a few drinks and a laugh.

8. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I never want to go grow up! I would love to be a writer though.

9. What rules do you often break?
Only ones I consider to be stupid - such as the no phones at work one. If there are no customers in, who am I hurting! I also regularly break accepted writing rules - I over use exclamation points, I have a big love for run on sentences and sometimes I start sentences with the word "and". Such a rebel!

10. What white lie have you told recently?
Just this morning, I told a sales person that I wasn't in when he asked to speak to me! I don't even have to feel guilty about this one, it's got to be better than slamming the phone down.

11. What’s the most annoying thing you have seen online?
How long have you got lol? One of the things that annoy me most, and I seem to see on an almost daily basis are the "poor me" Facebook status. Now I don't mean if you genuinely have something going on, or you feel down, you shouldn't say that. I mean the overly vague ones that have clearly done it just so people will ask what's wrong! Either say it or don't!

Thanks again to The Mama :)

Katie's questions

1) Do you have kids? How old are they?
I don't have any children. I love other people's, but have never wanted my own.

2) What is your favorite day of the week?
I think Friday's. For all I work all weekend, I still get that Friday feeling - years of social conditioning I guess!

3) What's the last vacation you took?
The last one I took where I went away was last year I went to Benidorm with my best friends for 10 days. It was fantastic. Last month I took some vacation days from work, just to use some up in the nice weather but I didn't go away any where.

4) Would you ever go sky diving?
Yes, definitely! I would love to go sky diving, talk about the ultimate sense of freedom.

5) Describe the prefect evening at home.
Wine! A nice hot bubble bath, a nice meal and a bit of Netflix or a good movie. And wine :)

6) Do you have any pets?
Just some fish, both gold fish and tropical fish.

7) What is your favorite holiday?
It's got to be Christmas. I'm like a big kid - all the lights, the decorations, the Christmas songs, family, friends, gifts, the whole works. There's always a buzz in the air and everyone's happy and excited.

8) What is your favorite non alcoholic beverage?
Coffee - I can get through quite a lot per day.

9) What's your favorite thing about blogging?
I love having my own little space to talk about whatever I want to, and when people read and comment on what I've written, it's just the best feeling ever!

10) Dress or skirt?
Dress! I'm so weird with skirts - I love them on other people but they just never look right on me for some reason. The odd time I find one that doesn't hang funny, or isn't an awkward length or any of the other reasons I don't wear them, I can never find a top I like with it!

Thanks again Katie!

Now for my questions:
1. If you could be invisible for one day, where would you go and what would you do?
2. What is your biggest fear?
3. If you could commit a crime with no fear of retribution, would you do it?
4. Who do you look up to most?
5. What is your favourite colour?
6. What is your most embarrassing moment?
7. If you could be any fictional character, who would it be and why?
8. What is your favourite gadget?
9. Facebook or Twitter?
10. Who is your favourite author?

And my nominations:
Angela from Days in Bed
Susan from The Mommy Life

Thanks again ladies! Some tough questions there, but I really enjoyed answering them. If you wish to answer my questions, consider yourself tagged!
